What are dust allergens?
Dust allergens are substances found in dust. They may include:
- Fabric fibers.

- Stuffing materials.
- Animal protein (dander, saliva, urine, and body oils).
- Bacteria.
- Mold and fungus spores.
- Food particles.
- Plants.
- Insects and their waste.
What is a dust mite allergen?
Dust mites are microscopic organisms that normally live throughout homes and businesses. The mites and their waste products thrive in:
- Draperies.
- Stuffed animals.
- Bedding, pillows, and mattresses.
- Upholstered furniture.
- Carpets.
- Air (but only right after vacuuming or sweeping).
